Frequently asked questions
What are Embroidery Files?
Embroidery files are loaded into embroidery machines. They are a set of instructions to the machine on how to sew a particular design. Embroidery formats listings provide different sized letters in individual files. Each digitized file is sewn and tested to work on standard material. We use lots of underlay and close stitch spacing for good coverage. You may need embroidery software to group the letters into one monogram. (see recommendations below)
What are SVG or Vector Files?
SVG stands for Scaleable Vector Graphics and is also a very popular file extension for vector files. Other popular extensions are EPS, AI, DXF, and PDF.
Vector graphics are a series of points, lines, arcs and other geometric shapes. They are the original graphic files of most illustrations that can be manipulated using graphic software. We recommend using graphic software such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw to manipulate our files.
The vector alphabets we sell provide the entire alphabet grouped in one file to save space. You will need graphic software to open or import the file format you need, and then ungroup the shapes. Copy, Paste, Resize as needed.
Can I resize Embroidery Files
The General rule for resizing expanded machine formatted files is 10%. However, this may or may not work depending on the fabric and artwork. The stitch count does not change, meaning if you are sizing down, stitches are just more packed together into a smaller area. If you are sizing up, stitches are spread out. Depending on the fabric, this may or may not work since some fabrics require more coverage than others.
With that being said, some software will allow you to process or convert expanded machine formatted files into a condensed format that can be resized and the stitches will automatically adjust. Please keep in mind that if you modify these files, you may get mixed results. Always do a sewout on similar material.
CUSTOM INTERLOCKING EMBROIDERY MONOGRAM SETUPS
The most common question we get is if we can switch the letters out or one of our interlocking embroidery monograms. There are no existing fonts, so to do that, we would need to custom design what you want and the level of difficulty depends on the letters. Rather, we prefer to offer our customers some ideas of other designs we can do instead in the letters they are looking for.
The only monogram style in our shop where the letters are interchangeable is the Monza Monogram, which is offered in a couple of styles. Check out our Interlocking Monogram Section

Please send your artwork for an estimated quote if you are not sure either through Etsy messaging system or email at orders@anamored.com.
After I ungroup the vector alphabet, it's also breaking the letter apart.
Depending on the vector software and format you use, the individual letters (and all its pieces) may be ungrouping as well. When selecting that letter and all its components, you may need to Marquee Select. (The Marquee select tool is utilized by clicking and holding the left mouse button in one corner, then dragging the marquee around the object(s) you want to select and then releasing)
Once selected, do a quick CTRL G (or apple G) and it will group that letter and all its pieces so you don't have to marquee select it anymore.
Why are the vector alphabets grouped into one file?
I try to be as clear as possible in my description that the vector alphabets are sold grouped into one file, saved in multiple formats. You may need a little extra skills in ungrouping, selecting, copying, pasting, and using keyboard shortcuts.
This is a matter of preference to provide my customers with everything in one small file that downloads faster (and takes up less space). It's also less work on my part. (Less work = Better price)
If you would rather pay extra for the individual letter files, please contact me BEFORE purchasing anything.
Do you sell BX files?
Yes! I just started carrying them. Please be patient while I update my listings. If you want your purchase updated, please just message me with your order number.
